Venture Partner
Clement Song is a Venture Partner of Sinnovation Ventures, and Chairman of Clement and Xinxin Foundation. Prior to entrepreneurship, Clement worked at Microsoft Xbox team and participated in the development and release of Xbox360, Xbox Live, and Xbox Live Vision products. In 2008, he returned to China and founded eCitySky as CEO, creating the world's first web3D virtual world platform "GameXiu." ECitySky merged with YY in 2011 and successfully listed on NASDAQ in 2012. In 2014, he founded AiNemo as CEO and launched "Xiaoyu@Home" and "Xiaodu@Home". AiNemo was later acquired by Baidu in 2020 for 600 million USD. Clement was also the co-founder of XYLink, a spinoff from AiNemo, now a leading cloud video conferencing company in China. Clement angel-invested in high-tech unicorn companies in China and US, such as global Communications-Platform-as-a-Service (CPaaS) provider Agora (Nasdaq"API"), smart agriculture company XAG, and AI-powered translation service company Lilt, etc. Clement graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Computer Science and Computer Engineering as a Rodman Scholar.
Scientific Advisor
Dr. Zhang is a world leading expert in machine learning. He obtained BA in Mathematics and Computer Science from Cornell University, and MS and Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University. He is a professor of Computer Science and Mathematics at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Previously Tong Zhang was a full professor at Rutgers University, and worked at IBM, Yahoo as research scientists, and Baidu as the founding Director of Big Data Lab. He was also the founding Director of Tencent AI Lab. Dr. Tong Zhang was an ASA fellow and IMS fellow, and has served as the chair or area-chair in major machine learning conferences such as NIPS, ICML, and COLT, and has served as associate editors in top machine learning journals such as PAMI, JMLR, and Machine Learning Journal.
Chairman & Managing Partner, WI Harper Group
With over 30 years of venture capital experience, WI Harper Group Chairman Peter Liu is widely regarded as a venture capital pioneer in Asia. In 1985, Peter co-founded Walden International. Then, in 1993, he founded WI Harper Group, a boutique venture capital firm focused on early-stage TMT and health care technology investments. Additionally, he has personally invested in hundreds of rising tech companies based in the United States and Greater China, many of which became publicly listed in major global exchanges. His investments include DivX, Creative Technology, CommerceOne, Intraware, S3, ISSI, and many other publicly listed companies.
Beyond his investment history, Peter is also heavily involved with a number of influential organizations. He is a Director on the Fifth Council of the China Overseas Exchange Association, one of China’s most powerful non-partisan organizations. He is also a Foundation Member of the World Economic Forum, actively sharing ideas with the world’s greatest economic and political minds to foresee and shape the future.
Dean of AI Institute
Mr. Yonggang Wang is the dean of Sinovation Ventures AI Institute. He is the co-founder of AInnovation, a spin-off from AI Institute, as well as the founder of DeeCamp, a students non-for-profit AI deep learning training camp. Previously, he served as staff software engineer in Google for over 10 years, the projects he had participated or been responsible for research and development include desktop search, Google Pinyin input method, product search, knowledge graph, Google Homepage Doodles, etc. He has a deep experience accumulation in knowledge graph, distributed systems, input method, HTML5 animation, game engine and other technical fields. Yonggang graduated from Peking University.
President & Partner
Ms. Tina Tao serves as the President and Partner of Sinovation Ventures, leading the operations and professional services teams including fund raising, finance, legal, marketing, business development, and investor relations. Prior to Sinovation Ventures, Tina had worked for years at the Chinese headquarters Microsoft, IBM and Google China. She has held leadership roles in product management, marketing, strategy and operations. Ms. Tao holds a B.A. and M.A. in Information Management from Peking University and a Master in Business Administration from Yale University.

Ms. Anita Huang joined us in 2016 and serves as the Chief Marketing Officer. She directs Sinovation Ventures’ branding, entrepreneurs’ community and training programs, public relations, marketing activities, and new business development on the portfolio management side. With 12 years of large scale Internet media platform experience in the Greater China region, Anita has worked with Tudou, Google and Yahoo! in the Greater China region with responsibilities ranging from marketing management, business development, product management, P&L management, and data analytics. Between 2014 to 2016, she founded Taiwan Startup Stadium that work with tech startups to go global, training over 150 startup companies and built a network of 15 top global accelerators, investors, tech conferences in the ecosystem. Anita holds M.S. in Integrated Marketing Communications, Medill School of Northwestern University.
Partner & General Manager, Eastern China
Mr. Peter Wu joins Sinovation Ventures with 10+ years of investment, M&A and marketing experience in the healthcare industry. During 2013 to 2020, he worked in SBCVC responsible for healthcare investments in China. He led and participated in several deals including New Horizon Health, Ankon Health, Annoroad, Lifotronic Technology, Codoon, etc.. Before investment career he previously worked at GE Healthcare and GE Consumer & Industrial for 7 years in marketing, business development, and global sourcing roles. Peter Wu graduated from Tongji University with B.A. in Material Science and Engineering as well as MBA degree in Vanderbilt University. He was awarded with “40 Under 40 Investors” by Cyzone in 2019 and “Top 10 Healthcare Investors” by VCBeat in 2017.

Mr. Hao Xiong, Partner and General Manager of Southern China office, joined Sinovation Ventures in early 2017. Hao is responsible for sustainability tech, advanced manufacturing, logistics and supply chain investments, including MyMRO, EP-ZL, Worldwide Logistics, Enkris Semiconductor, Zuoyebang, Youdao, etc. He worked for Cowin Capital and Legend Capital from 2011 to 2016, with a focus on technology and consumption upgrade. Prior to Sinovations, he made investments in Chinese startups across edtech, sports, technology, e-commerce, and consumer areas. Before becoming an investor, he was a research scientist at NIST, Maryland, working on microelectronics and emerging technologies. He had over 30 publications on IEEE Transactions, APL, and JAP etc. Hao received his B.A. degree from Tsinghua University (1999), Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Vanderbilt University (2004), and MBA degree from Yale University (2010).

Nero Wang, Executive Director of Sinovation Ventures, focuses on deep tech (AI, IoT, Semiconductor, etc.). Nero has led investments in National Chip, DPI, XYZ Robotics, Prophesee, Suirui, Transn, Y-semi, Flagchip, WeRide, AInnovation, Jing OS, Broadlink, Langboat, Nanostep, Kalman, 01.AI among others. Nero was the former leader of 360 hardware ecosystem, Co-founder of MUSES incubator, Founder of GuoYuan Delivery, Founder of College Students Sponsorship Web, Founder of the National College Students New Media Development Forum. He also worked at Microsoft, Qihoo 360 and Weibo. Nero graduated from Queen Mary University of London in Telecommunication & Management, and Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications.

She has more than 10 years of investment and industry research experience in the Chinese TMT space and led numerous strategic consulting projects for top-notch investment and TMT companies including Morgan Stanley, MIH, Warburg Pincus, WR Hambrecht, China Mobile, China Telecom, Google, Microsoft, Intel, IBM, Tencent, Baidu, etc. She had also previously worked for UNIDO UK as Head of Projects and earlier on she was Beijing’s Section Manager for Fuhwa Securities. Christine was elected #2 of TOP 10 Angel Investors by Zero2IPO and serves as admission interviewer Guanghua School of Management, Peking University. She leads the investments in 40+ companies, including Zhufaner, WD Tech, The One Smart Piano, Moji Weather, VivaVideo, Songguo, Qinbaobao, etc. Christine has bachelor degree in Beijing University of Technology and MBA from Peking University.
